Funding

There are internal scholarships, generated with UC funds, and external scholarships, offered by external entities such as organizations, governments of different countries, banking institutions, or international cooperation programs.

The application process for other external scholarships is carried out once the student has already been assigned an exchange spot and has started the application process to the respective university. The VRAI is responsible for informing students about possible processes.

Internal Scholarships (VRAI)

To apply for a scholarship during the exchange, it is required to have an updated Social Household Registry (RSH).
To obtain this Household Report or, if you don't have one, it is necessary to register online by visiting www.registrosocial.gob.cl using your Identity Card or Unique Key.

Required documents
The following documents must be submitted:

  • Household Report, downloaded from the official website.
  • Full screenshot of the website where the report is downloaded, showing:
  • The socioeconomic qualification.
  • The members of your family group.

These certificates must be sent to the Socioeconomic Assistance Department (DASE) at dase@uc.cl within the dates indicated in the application calendar. Please note that reports sent outside these dates (before or after) will not be considered.

VRAI Semester Scholarship

The VRAI will offer some financial support for students participating in a Bilateral Exchange or Double Degree program. Criteria for awarding VRAI Scholarships for bilateral exchange:

  • DASE Evaluation: DASE certifies the socioeconomic situation of students (social household registry). Students in the 7th decile or lower are eligible.
  • Be a regular student of the university during the exchange period.
  • Not having other substantial scholarships: VRAI scholarships are assigned to students who do not have other mobility scholarships equal to or greater than USD$4000. If you receive any other scholarship equal to or greater than USD$4000 after the internal benefit has been assigned, you will have to return the VRAI scholarship.
  • Availability: Scholarships are assigned according to the availability of university resources, prioritizing students with greater socioeconomic need.
  • Geographic Region: The scholarship amount varies according to the geographic region, considering differences in airfare and cost of living.
  • Acceptance Letter and compliance with the Preventive Protocol: It is required to present the acceptance letter from the host university and duly comply with the submission of all documentation mentioned in the Preventive Protocol before receiving the scholarship.
